Q.How do I go about paying you? A.I accept paypal, cash, money orders, or checks. I will email you my address if you choose to pay with cash/MO/check. If you choose PayPal, my email is ashley@loveisdead.net, and you can send payment as soon as you fill out the form or you could wait for me to send you a confirmation email.
Q.Can I pay monthly instead? A.Nope. Sorry, all payments need to be paid yearly.
Q.What does "USD" mean? A.USD means United States Dollars, and is the only form of currency I will accept. If you are from a country other than the USA, you will need to convert your payment before paying me. For example, $20 US Dollars (USD) is equal to €15 Euros (EUR), $21.50 Canadian Dollars (CAD), or £10 British Pounds (GBP).
Q.What if my bandwidth or space runs out? A.Just email me and we can work out upgrading your hosting package. If you're a free hostee, just explain in your email why you'd like more space and I will most likely give you what you want.
Q.How do I upgrade my hosting package? A.If you want to upgrade, please email me and we will discuss it. You will just pay the price difference between the two packages. For instance, if you are Bronze ($15) and wish to upgrade to Silver ($20), you would pay $5 to upgrade.
Q.I have a domain name already. What nameservers should I use? A.NS1: ns659.dizinc.com NS2: ns660.dizinc.com
Q.Can I host people with my paid account? A.Of course! With unlimited add-on domains, subdomains and FTP accounts, you can host as many people as you want.
Q.Can I buy domain names from you? A.Sure! If you bought a hosting account from me and would like to have extra domains to use as add-ons, I sell them for $9 each (.com/.net/.org). If you are a non-hostee and only wish to purchase a domain name from me (with no hosting), I charge $10.
Q.Can I get a refund? A.I currently don't do refunds for new or partially used packages. Your domain name is also non-refundable for obvious reasons, unless it was never registered, in which case I will refund you the $6.
Q.What is cPanel? A.cPanel is probably the greatest advantage that owning your own website brings, as opposed to being hosted on someone's subdomain. Inside cPanel, you can add/delete subdomains, set up redirects, create email accounts or forwarders, check your referrers and web traffic, make ftp accounts or edit passwords, create mysql databases, check your bandwidth usage, turn on/off hotlink protection, create custom 404 pages, and hundreds of other things. there is even an html editor where you can upload, delete, edit or chmod files. The possibilities are endless, and you are in control 100%. Here is a screenshot of what cPanel looks like on the inside :)
Q.Can I have cPanel with free hosting? A.Yes. I offer cPanel to my free hostees for a one-time fee of $1. Most free hosts do not give you cPanel, it is always a paid-only feature. Of course, this is optional. I only offer it since I have been asked about it numerous times and it is an awesome control panel and html editor.
Q.What is Fantastico? A.Fantastico is a feature inside cPanel that can automatically create mysql databases and install scripts for you in a few clicks. This means you won't have to download the script, unpack it, upload it, or handle any config files. It does it all for you. Some of the scripts offered are Wordpress, Coppermine, Joomla, 4images, phpBB, SMF, CubeCart, OSCommerce, Zen Cart, etc. Fantastico is perfect for newbies who do not know or are not comfortable installing scripts like these on their own.
Q.How big is a GB anyway? A.GB stands for Gigabyte, and 1 Gigabyte = 1024 Megabytes. To put this into perspective, an MP3 file is usually about 3 Megabytes, meaning you would need to download over 300 songs to use up 1 Gigabyte of bandwidth... that's a lot!
Q.Can I put up warez or illegal files on my site? A.MP3s, videos, flash and the like are fine. Any type of file (excluding viruses and illegal pornography) is okay to upload, just please be reasonable with the type of stuff you are hosting. Keep in mind that large media files may eat up your bandwidth!
Q.Will you make me a layout? A.Sorry, I am much too busy to make layouts for people. There are many linkware layout sites out there, just search yahoo :)
